Not convinced? Learn a little more the templates below

After struggling to find a CPD-logging software that was a) free, b) customisable, and c) relevant to Paramedics, I discovered Airtable and created new templates to help Paramedics and NQPs. These were recently shared by the College of Paramedics (June 2022).

Small print: Although these templates are customisable and you are free to make changes, the layout and structure is as it is to ensure it prints properly. The NQP table layout should be accepted by your managers/mentors as it is, and this may not be the case if you make changes. If you think something should be changed and you would like to know how this will impact your portfolio submission or printing/exporting, please feel free to send me a message.

FAQ

I’ve got an old version. How do I upgrade to V1.7?

I’ll do this for free in my own time – send me a message.

What are the pre-requisites?

The template is free to use with the free version of the Airtable website or mobile app. When you follow the link to the template, you will be prompted to set up a free account on https://airtable.com/.

As mentioned below, the links to the templates are now within a members-only section of this site. If you’re ready to become a free member now, click the button below:

The help file (previously on OneNote) is now available here. Use this as a reference tool to ensure you understand the process and have everything you need in your CPD portfolio. There is no longer a need to use the structure as a template as the Airtable template includes all pages of your portfolio.

All instructions for use are now within the portfolios themselves. Please take this as an up-to-date version of instructions, as of Nov 2023.

Where Do I Find the Templates?

Access the portfolios has been moved to a members-only page here. You will need to create a free Article 999 account, which takes seconds. If you get stuck in a login loop after registering for an account, please refresh the page.

What do the templates include?

For Paramedics and NQPs, these contains all elements mentioned in the posters above – enter all of your CPD here. NQPs also have the option to log their mentor meetings here, then either print these to be signed or get them signed electronically for supporting Trusts. For non-HCPC staff, the template contains all necessary components: the ability to log reflections, skills, development goals, and general CPD from a simple form, along with calendar views and more.

All templates include sections for you to add:

  • A cover page
  • A 500 word summary of your practice.

In addition, HCPC-Registered staff have a section to add:

  • A 1,500 word supporting document

This covers the expectations for HCPC portfolios. Remember, for clarity on this you can refer to Article 999’s Help File.
