Road to Disaster Card Game – Pre-Order

£11.99

Available for pre-order. Anticipated release: Jan 2025.

Please note the final box design and some other cards may look slightly different to what is displayed here as final improvements are made to the product before its release.

Description

A trauma and USAR game card pack designed for paramedics and anyone interested in search and rescue and medicine in remote environments.

As part of an International Response Team (IRT), you must reach an earthquake site to search for survivors. On route, passers-by will ask for help. Roads will be damaged, checkpoints a challenge, and the medical questions you know the answers to might start being stolen. Are you sure you’re ready?

2-4 players. Solo or team mode, and 3 ways to play. Age 14+. Made by IRT team members. Proceeds from your purchase will support real IRTs.

PRE ORDER NOW – COMING VERY SOON*.

Please pay using Google or Apple pay if you are able to. This prevents a cut being taken from the total amount and going to payment providers rather than Article 999 or IRTs.

*Release date may be subject to change.

Not convinced? Here’s a bit more about the game:

  • Multiple ways to play – choose your level.

  • Realistic action cards

  • Basic instructions within the card pack and colourful start cards. Further instructions are available via a QR, which means there are endless possibilities for future development in game play, including ways to combine this pack with extensions and new games when these are released.

  • A background story, and colourful question cards in different categories

  • We also quite like the box design, featuring the game title, and Article 999’s slogan on the side – and we hope you do too.

Why this price?

For Article 999 to purchase these cards, before selling them on, it costs £5.91 per pack – and this is when they are bought in bulk. We then add a small donation to charity per pack. £4 per pack goes to charity and anything remaining covers development and production costs. Postage is then added on top. This is clearly a not-for-profit venture. The research behind each question in the packs has come from over a year and a half of trauma-specific CPD related to my (Louise’s) professional development and further posts on this website. The research, failed costly experiments, and additional time to redesign that CPD into a playable game has taken several months.

If you are able to purchase the pack with added donation at full price (£20+p&p), a total of £11 per pack will go to charity. This will be greatly appreciated. We would also really appreciate it if you use the Google pay option as this will prevent a loss of £0.90 per pack to the payment providers’ fees.

Whatever you decide to do, your money will be valued in many ways:

  • You will help cover some of the costs of developing this project, paving the way towards future games and unique products.
  • You will help support Article 999 as a CPD site and a site for improving health literacy in the public.
  • You will help to cover the costs of International Response Team volunteers in their training, equipment, and deployment needs.
  • You will help to support the other vital work of charities in UK flood and international disaster response that are reliant on donations to function and can only function well with support.

Unfortunately, returns are not accepted as this is a small-team venture for a product that has been created by one person – apologies, but we do not have the resources to support returns.

Thank you – and we hope you enjoy the game and learn or thing or do along the way!
